TRENDS 2024

INTERIOR DESIGN

What’s IN and What’s OUT in 2024

With every new year comes a chance for a clean slate. Here are our top interior design trends and tips that may inspire you how to transform your home in 2024.

At Saint & Noire we create a real living spaces; not just photo ready interiors but interiors which are connected to those who live there, overlooking ‘’fast furniture trends’’, cookie cutter DIY interiors from Instagram or AI generated fantasy concepts.

‘Our Interior designs for our ‘’au courant’’ clients in 2024 are becoming more and more form of self-expression; definition of their mood, almost like the way we dress. I can clearly see that interior design and fashion are more intertwined than in previous years and this trend will be more prominent in the future.’’

     What’s IN

BOLD COLOURS vs HUES

The hottest 2024 colour and material trends will be predominantly in very warm shades. Embracing a bold eclectic hues drawn from various cultural expressions.

Crimson Red seen on fashion runways everywhere in 2023 will be spilling over into interiors, furnishings, or small decorative items. We recommend the Latte hues to complete the palette with a timeless, sophisticated, and comforting ambiance that will transform any space into a haven of warmth and elegance.

Other colours – a Pale Pistachio is poised to become popular too or Yves Klein-Blue to provoke strong visual energy in juxtaposition with plaster and clay like tones to fully express materiality and tactility.

STRIPES

Bold, candy-style stripes have been making an appearance in the last few months in various rooms.

Stripes are the perfect choice for smaller spaces because they can create the illusion of more room. Vertical stripes make ceilings look higher or the space seem taller or longer whereas horizontal lines make a room feel wider. Stripy rugs, furnishing and accent pieces can also help make a space feel bigger whilst injecting individuality into a room.

COFFEE BAR

Any coffee lover will welcome a coffee bar in home for daily coffee essentials like pods or grounds, syrups and coffee makers. Built-in coffee cabinet, corner coffee counter or kitchen pantry, a coffee bar will capture the function and ambiance of your favourite coffee shop right at your home. With barista style coffee machine, plenty of open shelves and functional storage for your delicate Bone China you can truly enjoy your favourite beverage anytime.

There is increased demand for imperfectly perfect design that included handmade, heirloom, antique, or vintage items

QUIET LUXURY

The classic, investment pieces that you can build a room around after overdose of blingy luxury will continue infiltrating our home design. Pieces that are timeless, in traditional shapes and silhouettes that can have many lives and evolve in future. Meanwhile, Instagram-ready rooms with mass produced uncomfortable furniture will be on steady decline.were made with consideration and care to find unique story for your interior in a world where anything can be mass-produced.

MARBLE ACCESORIES

Whether it’s a marble plant pots, coasters or tray—or even a side tables, marble accessories can give your home panache of quiet luxury.

50’S  ITALIAN LIGHTING

Vintage lighting adds a much-needed patina to living spaces. The right piece can really bring a room together and make it feel collected with style, such as ’50s-era Italian floor lamps or pendants.

What’s out

MAXIMALISM

Maximalism and the womb-like softness in shapes seen in the post pandemic years has been around for a while and clearly the 70’s inspiration feels overdone. We are craving simple modernity in materials, elegantly arranged furniture and decor without an excess.

EARTHY TONES

Earthy tones and materials are leaving us feeling melancholic during winter months. The simple solution is to update your room with more exuberant hues like pastels or whites to welcome more light into your interior.

IVORY BOUCLE

Since as far back in furniture design history as 1948, when architect and designer Eero Saarinen upholstered his iconic Womb chair in bouclé, the nubby-textured fabric ‘’Boucle’’ has proven its power. For some interior designers it’s the one fabric that is the epitome of quiet luxury for us this trend hit saturation point.

FAUX FUR THROWS

No more faux fur throws.

MID-CENTURY FURNITURE

Leave your angular mid-century-looking furniture pieces at the vintage shop, this trend definitely run its course now.

ALL WHITE AND GREY KITCHENS

Kitchens are part of our open plan living spaces, and we are looking for more luxury cabinetry to match our living room furniture. The colour of the kitchen cabinets is very important, all white or all grey kitchens may look lost and mundane in large open plan room.

MODERN FARMOUSE

The modern farmhouse aesthetic has officially ended and it’s time to move on. There are more sophisticated way to elevate your home instead of making it look dated.
